Alkaline Nutrition - Ways to Achieve pH Balance and Restore Health Published date: 04-30-2007 11:25 AM - CET - Health & Medicine (openPR) - Due to fast paced daily lifestyles, eating on the run, people have to face a constantly growing endangerment: the over-acidification of the body cells, which will interrupt cellular activities and functions. It is a major root of sickness and disease, and it is also what causes overweight: to protect itself from potentially serious damage, the body creates new fat cells to store the acids and and carry them away from our vital organs. The body's entire metabolic process depends on an alkaline environment. When people ingest too many acidic or acid-producing foods, excess acid corrodes tissues and organs, which leads to illness. In addition, acid also provides a favorable environment for harmful bacteria and other micro organism that can damage glands and organs. A diet high in acid foods (e.g. dairy, meat, bread, high sugar fruits, bread) causes acid wastes to build up in the body. When these acid wastes enter the blood stream, the blood system tries to dispose of these wastes. That means if there are too many wastes to handle they are deposited in vital organ systems like the heart, pancreas, liver, colon and other locations. The body's handling with and disposal of these acids is also called “the aging process”. In order to slow down this process, the over-acidification of the body system has to be reversed by adding liberal amounts of alkaline water to the diet. Alkaline water has a pH between 9 and 11 and will neutralize harmful acid wastes and gently remove them from the tissues. The pH level is a measure of acidity or alkalinity, which takes numerical values from 0 (maximum acidity) through 7 (neutral) to 14 (maximum alkalinity). The urine, digestive juices, mucus, saliva, blood and the fluids inside and outside the body's cells each have an optimum pH level; blood pH is the most telling of all. The ideal blood pH is slightly alkaline, with a normal range of 7.35 to 7.45. If the pH moves below 6.8 or above 7.8, the cells of the body stop functioning. Consequently, the body continually struggles to maintain its ideal pH. In doing so, the most important thing is to hydrate it with alkalizing and alkaline water, which is easily comprehensible since our body consists of 70% water. Besides achieving an ideal blood pH level, it is equally important to create the proper balance of alkaline and acid forming foods. Since the pH level is slightly alkaline, a well-balanced diet and nutrition should also reflect this. Therefore one should consume at least 75% of alkalizing foods, like green vegetables, alkaline fruits or sprouted greens, and never more than 20-25% of neutral and acidifying foods. Eatables that are alkalizing (or alkalizing supplements) transform the internal system's balance from dangerously acidic to slightly above neutral. Balance-pH is dedicated to educate people all over the world regarding the constantly growing over-acidification of our cell system. Acidic wastes grow inside the body due to unhealthy lifestyles, which is the reason for many diseases. Balance-pH shows efficient ways of how to alkalize, how to fight these acids, balance body ph levels and restore the overall health. Visit Balance-pH for more information.
