Balancing Our pH Levels By Swee Smith | Published date: 03-06-2007 - EzineArticles - Health & Medicine Balancing our pH levels is one of the most important things you need to learn. In order for our body's cells to function at peak capacity, your body need to ensure that its pH levels (especially your blood pH) are in slightly alkaline state (that means with a pH of slightly over 7). pH is the measure of hydrogen and oxygen ions (electrically charged particles). Your blood, urine, saliva, digestive juices, mucus, and the fluids inside and outside of the cells each have an optimum pH level. While our digestive juices are quite acidic, your blood pH level must slightly alkaline. The process of restoring pH balance begins with proper diet and nutrition. This includes eating alkalizing foods such as vegetables and low sugar, fruits, etc., cellular hydration (drinking plenty of structured water), and proper supplement. NORMAL BODY pH LEVEL IN HUMAN BODY The higher the pH reading, the more alkaline and oxygen rich in the fluid is. The lower the pH reading, the more acidic and oxygen deprived the fluid is. As noted on the ph chart above 7 being neutral. Anything above 7.0 is alkaline, anything below 7.0 is considered acidic. Your ph level affects every bodily function. If your pH level is not balanced, it cannot effectively assimilate vitamins, minerals and food supplements. “We can't prevent Aging, but we can prevent Feeling Old.” i truly believe if we are armed with correct information and guidance, almost anyone can enjoy health and vitality. http://www.officialhealthhealth.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Swee_Smith
